Doyles Room

The first thing you notice when you log on to Doyles Room is that it has a flavor of the old west. While other sites try to give that Vegas feel, Doyle's online site has look of the worn wood of an old time saloon. With the self proclaimed Babe Ruth of Poker, Doyle Brunson as spokesperson and manager, Doyles Room offers you a chance to play against Brunson and the Mad Genius of Poker Mike Caro, who manages as well.

They also have a generous $550 sign up bonus. The site also hosts a wide variety of tournaments as well as free play and an online poker school.

During peak hours Doyles Room can see anywhere from 1,900 to 2,400 players in their ring games, while they draw anywhere from 6, 200-6,800 players in peak hours for tournaments.

While the graphics aren't dazzling, it does look good. Doyle Brunson's likeness is imprinted on the table and there floor has the intricate designs of expensive carpeting.

Holdem, Seven Card Stud, and Omaha Hi-Lo are among the games offered and it has all the features you would expect from a Poker site. Chat feature, buddy list function, a lobby and cashier, live floor managers, no limit games, private tables and multi table tournaments.

The site offers "action points" which can be exchanged for various items. Points from a raked pot are distributed to certain players. Every $1 in tourney fees equates to 100 points.

In terms of the rake, tables up to $1/$2 have a max $1 rake and a max $3 on all the rest.

If you want to test your skills don't expect hard competition. Generally speaking the competition is relatively soft and high stakes games are few and far between.
